Park City & Wasatch Mountains
Park City is about 35 minutes up I-80, with ski resorts, mountain biking, and alpine lakes in summer. Cold nights and quick access make a heated, insulated van the easiest way to stay close to the lifts.
Big Cottonwood Canyon
Right on the edge of the valley, Big Cottonwood leads to Solitude, Brighton, and dozens of trailheads. In winter, UDOT enforces traction restrictions in the canyons during storms, so AWD or 4x4 with proper tires, or chains, is worth planning for.
Moab
About four hours southeast, Moab is the gateway to slickrock trails, river trips, and some of the best dispersed camping in the West. Dusty roads and big temperature swings put every system in your van to work.

Roughly four and a half hours south. Zion's Scenic Drive uses a shuttle for much of the year, and the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel has size rules for larger vehicles. Check current tunnel dimensions against your van, including mirrors, racks, and awnings, before you go.
Bryce Canyon
At around 8,000 to 9,000 feet, Bryce gets cold at night even in summer and sees heavy snow in winter. Good insulation and a reliable heater make it a year-round destination.

Quieter than the other parks, Capitol Reef offers orchards, slot canyons, and scenic backroads. Services are limited, so arrive with full water tanks and charged batteries.
Arches National Park
