Road salt deserves particular attention here. Pennsylvania salts heavily, and salt is hard on any vehicle's underbody, brake lines and fasteners. Washing the undercarriage regularly through winter is the single most useful habit for a van you plan to keep a long time, and it matters more than anything done inside the build.
