The Family series sleeps 4 to 5 people and seats up to 5 in DOT-approved seatbelted positions while driving. Layouts include a permanent rear bed plus convertible sleeping areas for kids or guests, with proper child-seat compatible seatbelted seats up front in the second row.
Yes. All passenger seating in our Family builds uses DOT-rated, professionally installed seats with three-point seatbelts anchored to the chassis. The kid bunks are designed for sleeping at rest only, not for travel. We are happy to walk through seatbelt positions and car-seat compatibility before your build.
Yes. The Family XLS includes an integrated enclosed wet bath as standard. The Family and Family XL can be upgraded with an indoor wet bath or outdoor shower setup during the design phase. We will help you pick the option that fits your travel style and water-system capacity.
Yes. Every Vansmith build includes a personalized design consultation where you choose cabinetry finish, countertop, upholstery, flooring, and accent colors. We offer a curated palette that fits the Vansmith aesthetic and can also work in custom selections within reason.
Current Family build lead time runs 7 to 10 months from the date your build slot is confirmed and the van arrives in Boulder. Larger XL and XLS builds with showers tend to sit at the longer end. Contact us for the current production calendar and slot availability.
Every Vansmith conversion includes a 2-year workmanship warranty on the build itself plus the original manufacturer warranty on the chassis and component parts (battery, solar, appliances, etc.). We are based in Boulder and service every build we make. Full warranty details are reviewed at contract signing.
