Most Vansmith DIY parts are designed for confident weekend builders with basic tools (drill, level, measuring tape, painters tape). Each kit ships with detailed install instructions. We also offer paid phone and video support if you get stuck, and the kits are built to forgive minor measurement errors.
Each DIY kit is made to order and usually ships in 2 to 4 weeks. Larger multi-product bundles take 4 to 6 weeks. Shipping is free to the lower 48 states — larger items via freight, smaller items via UPS or FedEx. Local pickup at our Boulder shop is available; we will email you as soon as your order is ready.
DIY products are non-refundable because each kit is CNC-cut to spec and cannot be resold. If your order arrives with damaged or missing parts, we will ship replacements at no cost. Every DIY part carries a 1-year material warranty covering defects such as delamination, warping from manufacturing, and incorrect cuts. You have 14 days after delivery to inspect and report any issues. Contact DIY@thevansmith.com for warranty claims.
Yes. If you would rather have a pro install your DIY part, we offer paid install slots in our Boulder shop. Most single-part installs (a galley, bed, or cabinet set) take 1 to 3 days. Contact us for current install scheduling and pricing.
