Vansmith custom builds typically range from $46,950 to $68,950 depending on the chassis you choose, the layout, and the systems you add. A custom Sprinter or Transit base vehicle is around $72,000 and is not included in the build-only price. Foundation packages start at $9,970, and pre-built Bivy models start at $119,700 with the van included.

How long does a custom camper van conversion take?

A fully custom Vansmith build runs four to six months from design lock to keys in hand. Pre-built Bivy models are ready in eight to ten weeks. Foundation packages install in six to eight weeks. We give you a real timeline in your first design call.

Do I need to bring my own van for the conversion?

You do not. Most customers ask us to source the chassis. We handle ordering and delivery from Mercedes-Benz or Ford. If you already own a Sprinter or Transit, we can convert yours.

What chassis does The Vansmith build on?

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (144 and 170, RWD and AWD, gas and diesel) and Ford Transit (148 and 148 EL, RWD and AWD). We build on these two chassis only because we have refined our floorplans, electrical systems, and parts supply around them.

Can I finance a custom camper van?

Yes. We work with RV-specific lenders who finance custom builds on twenty-year terms, similar to a boat or RV loan. Rates depend on your credit tier.

What is the Vansmith lifetime cabinet warranty?

Every Vansmith cabinet is covered for the life of the van for the original owner. We use marine-grade hardware, sustainable wood, and finishes we stand behind. If a cabinet, drawer, or hinge fails under normal use, we fix it.

Both. Our used vans are ready to drive home today, and our pre-built Bivy vans deliver in about 8 to 10 weeks. Tell us your timeline and we'll match you to the right one.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We work with lenders who specialize in camper vans and RVs, so you can finance a new build or a used van. We'll walk you through the options on a quick call.

Can you deliver my van, or do I pick it up?

Both. Pick up at our shop in Boulder, Colorado, or we'll arrange delivery nationwide. We quote delivery based on where you are.

What comes with a used van?

Every used van is Vansmith-inspected before it's listed, with mileage and condition noted up front. You get a fully converted, road-ready van with no wait.

How much does a conversion van cost?

New conversion vans typically range $80K to $250K depending on chassis, layout, and systems. Used vans are priced individually, complete and ready to go.
