• Bahia Honda State Park, Florida Keys: TThe best campsite in the Keys — and the hardest to book. The DUO Series at 19 feet fits the loop sites. Book 6+ months in advance. John Pennekamp, just north on Key Largo, is day-use only — don’t plan to overnight there. Bahia Honda is the one.
• EGulf Coast snowbird route (Pensacola to Naples): The standard November–April run. Grayton Beach State Park near Destin, Fort Pickens in the Panhandle, Cayo Costa near Fort Myers (ferry access — van stays on the mainland), and Collier-Seminole south of Naples. Plan state park bookings 3–6 months out for prime winter dates.
• Canaveral National Seashore (Space Coast): 57,000 acres of undeveloped barrier island. Primitive camping at Klondike Beach — no hookups, first-come for walk-in sites. A good overnight from Orlando (1 hr) or Jacksonville (2 hrs). The solar system handles overnight no-hookup stays comfortably
• Ocala National Forest springs circuit: Alexander Springs, Juniper Springs, Salt Springs — all with full campgrounds and hookups. An easy drive from Orlando, Tampa, or Gainesville. Water temp stays at 68°F year-round. Sites accommodate 22-foot builds.
• Big Cypress National Preserve (near Everglades): Dispersed off-road camping on designated trails — no hookups, no reservations, no crowds. One of the few places in Florida where you can camp without a state park site. A 19-foot DUO navigates the access roads comfortably.
